The Ministry of Ale opened its doors November 2000. It is run by Mick and Sandra Jacques and they have been in the licensed trade for over 20 years. The Ministry is a quirky pub on the outskirts of Burnley town centre, it is home to Moonstone Brewery and regularly has 4 cask ales on dispense, along with the usual lager and stout it also has some of Belgium's finest beers such as Leffe and Timmermans, either on draft or available in bottles. Around 7 years ago the Ministry decided to host local art exhibitions and has continued to do so ever since, whether it be local photographs of Burnley Public Houses from 1969 or paintings done by members of a local charity - its all welcome.
